Tamil Nadu government to start IAS academies in all districts

 

The government of Tamil Nadu has decided to set up coaching academies for civil services aspirants in all districts.

According to state Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan, the state will soon start coaching academies in all the 32 districts of Tamil Nadu state. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts civil services examinations in all India level based on the vacancies available in major services for the recruitment of bureaucrats.

“To help those appearing for IAS/IPS examinations, the state education department will soon start coaching academies in all the 32 districts,” Minister K A Sengottaiyan said.

According to the minister, the proposed academies would benefit poor and middle class youths in their bid to clear the exam and get good ranks, he added.

The UPSC civil services 2017 recruitment process has already started and this year’s UPSC civil services main examination will be held from October 28, 2017. The UPSC had declared the results of preliminary examinations on July last week.

The UPSC CS competitive examination comprises two successive stages:

Civil services (prelims) exam (objective type) for the selection of candidates for main exam; and civil services (mains) exam (written and interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts.

The Minister was speaking at a function at nearby Thindal village where he distributed over Rs. 10.50 lakh worth pooja articles to 420 temples under the administration of the state Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment department.
