The State government has decided to pursue the ban against politics by the High Court after the student’s agitation at MES College in Ponnani. As a result, the government has directed the Advocate General to examine the legal sides of the issue.
The state government plans to file a petition against the ban on campus politics to either High Court or Supreme Court. State government clarified that the ban on government is against the very fabric of democracy.
Colleges are educational institutions where parents send their youngsters to study, not a place for politics; the High Court clarified.
The court reiterated its stand while considering the case relating to students’ agitation at MES College in Ponnani.
