Padmavati is an upcoming Indian period drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film features Deepika Padukone in the title role as Rani Padmavati, alongside Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Jim Sarbh are playing vital roles. The trailer of the movie was out a couple of weeks ago. While the whole B-town is blown away with the trailer, Shahid Kapoor is not so happy with the trailer.
In Padmavati, the actor plays the role of Maharana Rawal Ratan Singh, he is not so satisfied with the performance in the trailer. “I think that the role has been underplayed in the trailer,” he says. Even if one does admit that he has worked hard to get that kind of a physical appearance for his role, the actor feels that the film has a lot more to offer. “You have to wait for the film to discover the role. Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost,” says Shahid.
Shahid is also against the kind of violent protests that the film is facing at the moment including the desecration of the rangoli of Deepika Padukone as Padmavati. He also added that the focus has to be to release the film. We have taken care to keep everybody’s points of view while making the film. It is a great cinematic experience and it has been made in a way that will show the people of this country in the nicest light,” says Shahid. The film would make a release on December 1st of 2017.
