President Kovind completes 100 days, Bhavan accessible to commoners

President Ram Nath Kovind completes his 100 days of presidency through efficient time-management and quick decision making.

President Kovind, who took over the office on July 25 as the 14th president, has sought to reach out to the states by undertaking visits there. His visits includes to those states that are rule by non-NDA parties, like Karnataka and Kerala. He has visited several of the states and hopes to cover most of them by the end of the year.

In some states, the president visited the rural and interior areas. But all the travels were completed overnight and returned the same day. Mr. Kovind undertook his first foreign visit to Djibouti and Ethiopia from October 3rd to the 6th. The visit was tightly packed with lot of travel and no rest said an official; as a part of his time-management.

President Kovind has also assured speedy decision-making, an example is the waiting time for the presentation of credentials by foreign ambassadors and high commissioners has been reduced to the maximum of 2 to 3 weeks, where as previously it used to be months.

Mr. Koi=vind is also making the Rashtrapati Bhavan more accessible to the public, especially availing the Rashtrapathi Bhavan’s library to the common people online. The Rastrapati Bhavan also became a venue for the culumination of Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi’s ‘ Bharat Yatra’, a movement to spread the awareness about child abuse and trafficking.

The highlight of the event was a special gesture by the president to make a Dalit girl sit next to him. The geture touched Satyarthi and he recorded it in a hand-written letter to Kovind.
