A new wage protection system has now come into effect in Oman.
The Ministry of Manpower announced that the companies working in the country will need to adapt to the new wage system.
The new wage system will reduce the cases over expact wages in Oman.
The new wage system ensures all employees are paid on time. Organizations in Oman have three months to adapt to the new system and to ensure that their work systems are following the new payment regulations.
Private and public organizations in Oman are of the view that ‘free visa’ expats need to be deported from the Sultanate to help eradicate the worker black market in the Sultanate.
‘Free visa’ is a term employed by agents and some unscrupulous company bosses to entice migrants to come to Oman for work.
The workers are coming to Oman and then they soon realize that there are no jobs are here.
Having paid a lot of money to agents in home countries, they find themselves working on daily rates with no legal protection.
