“Modi”- The one and only leader who can stand against china-Pilsbury

American experts say- Modi is the only leader in the world to stand in front of China

Washington (PTI) A top American expert in Chinese affairs has said that PM Modi is the only leader in the world who had taken the lead of China’s ambitious project ‘Belt and Road’. A major think overseeing foreign policy, especially the Chinese affairs, has said that so far America has been silent on this project.

Michael Pillsbury, director of the Center for Chinese Strategy of America’s renowned Think-Tank Hudson Institute, told before the US lawmakers that Modi and his team have vocally opposed against this ambitious project of China’s President Xi Chingfing.

Pillsbury said, “There is a global leader in the world so far against it, then it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To some extent, this is also because China’s project also violates the purview of China’s sovereignty. He has also targeted the silence of the American government so far on this matter. Pillsbury said, “It has been 5 years since the start of the Belt and Road project. If the initial time is left, then the American government is almost silent on this. “

While praising the Trump Administration for Indo-Pacific Strategy, the former Pentagon official said that in recent days people have heard that the Trump administration and the President themselves have spoken more than 50 times about “free and open” Indo-Pacific areas Of China is constantly attacking it and it does not like it at all.

What is belt and road project

Chinese President Xi Chunfing has introduced Belt and Road (BRI) under the project to re-establish the ancient Silk Road. Through this, China plans to connect Europe apart from South Asian countries. The key part of the belt and road is in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (seepak). The 3,000-kilometer long project connects Xinjiang of China to Gwadar port of Pakistan. It will pass through the Gilgit-Baltistan of Jammu and Kashmir, which India considers its share and it is currently occupied by Pakistan. The presence of China in this region is seeing India as interfering in its sovereignty. That is why India is keeping a distance from this project.
