Union minister K J Alphons drives car to ministry office, stopped by CISF

Union minister of state for tourism (independent charge) K J Alphons was stopped from entering his ministry headquarters. The reason is Alphons drove his personal car to the office at Transport Bhavan near Parliament House. Since the personal car did not have any official stickers, CISF personnel deployed at the building’s entrance stopped it.

They reportedly asked the minister who he was and whether he had a pass to enter the building. Sources said the minister, a down to earth person, told them who he was and appreciated their diligence.

By this time, word spread and officials rushed to the office. “The minister drove from his Lodhi Estate residence to the Sansad Marg office in his personal car around noon. Going in a non-official car led to Alphons being stopped at the building gate,” said a source.

PM Narendra Modi doing away with the ‘lal batti’ culture, his ministers are often treated like the common man and they don’t seem to be grudging it.
