Redmi 5A, the smartphone is the successor of the earlier launched Redmi 4A and it comes with a starting price tag of Rs 4,999.
As part of the launch offer the company has partnered with Reliance Jio and will be offering cashback of Rs 1,000 on the device. Xiaomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain tweeted, “Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India Managing Director, revealed the Jio cashback offer following the launch of the Redmi 5A on Thursday. “All #Redmi5A users now avail an additional cashback of Rs. 1,000 cashback through @reliancejio ‘Better Together Offer’![sic]”.
As part of the offer, the Redmi 5A buyers will have to recharge their Reliance Jio number with Rs 199 pack for the period of 12 months. The customers will then get 10 vouchers of Rs 100 each by the end of 12 months. The users can then use these recharge vouchers against the plan if Rs 309 or 201 while recharging their device through the MyJio app. The customers should recharge their connection between December 5, 2017, and November 30, 2018.
For those unaware, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A comes with a metal unibody design and three card slots, which means that the users can use two SIM cards and one microSD card the same time. The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixel resolution and is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor.
The company has launched two variants of the smartphone – 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The users can further expand the storage via microSD card. The device runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system topped with MIUI 9. It is backed by a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera for selfies and 3,000 mAh battery.
