GURGAON: Eight months after a 28-year-old woman was raped by a man, the survivor was allegedly attacked with acid by the accused while she was on her way home after a hearing in a city court.

The crime took place on November 22, but the police registered a case only on Wednesday. The accused is currently out on bail in the rape case.

The survivor has claimed her repeated calls to police control room on November 22, after Shailendra Kumar Mishra poured acid on her private parts at a temple in Dundahera village in front of her uncle, went unanswered.

She was medically examined and produced in a city court on Thursday, where her statement was recorded before a magistrate.
