Mayavathi finds the reason for why BJP won in UP civic polls

After the celebrated victory of the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh election polls, this is Mayavathi’s jibe as to why the victory was sure for the BJP.

After winning two seats out of 16 in Uttar Pradesh civic polls 2017, the former chief minister of the state and leader of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati has alleged that BJP has won the election with the help of EVM tampering.

Mayawati challenged the BJP and said her party would sweep the 2019 Lok Sabha polls if voting is done on ballot papers.”If BJP is honest and believes in democracy then discard EVMs & conduct voting on Ballot papers. General Elections are due in 2019. If BJP believes people are with them, they must implement it. I can guarantee if Ballot papers are used, BJP won’t come to power,” Mayawati told the media.

Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was the only true competition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).The BSP not just won two seats but also gave BJP a tough fight in many seats including Jhansi with a sleek margin.

The party has performed well despite Mayawati’s absence from campaigning.Political experts opined that the win in two mayoral seats could help Mayawati and party in upcoming days. Meanwhile, the SP and the legislature put up an unsatisfactory show and could not obtain an individual mayoral seat.

The former UP chief minister said along with the Dalits, Muslims and other religious minorities and tribals, the members of the OBC communities were also exploited and that they all needed to unite against the BJP.
