An Arab and accomplice arrested for robbing from flat disguised as a woman

An Arab dressed up like a woman robbed around AED1.75 millions from his boss in Sharjah. He entered the flat by opening it with a duplicate key which was given to him by his accomplice, who was also an employee of the same firm.

Following the incident, the Arab along with his accomplice were arrested and charged with theft in Sharjah Criminal Court. Following confession, the man and his accomplice were charged with theft.

During the hearing, the first accused named Mahran admitted that he entered the apartment during the day wearing an abaya and niqab to steal the cash. He told the court that the flat’s owner, who is also an Arab, held his passport for four years, and owed him money. The accused requested the court to grant him a certain period to arrange a defense lawyer.

The second defendant Lutfi N also admitted his involvement in the robbery but said he did not enter the apartment and waited outside till it was executed.

On October 12, 2017, the central operations room of Sharjah Police received a call informing them about the heist. The forensic experts rushed to the site in a very professional way and the criminals had not left any trace of evidence.
