The battle between the Congress and the BJP has intensified that cheap tricks are being used to throw the rival. Here is the latest news on Hardik.
As the poll heat intensifies in Gujarat despite cyclonic conditions, another set of videos of Patidar quota leader Hardik Patel and two others with a girl went viral on Wednesday. The videos triggered a war of words between Hardik’s outfit – Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) – and BJP.
This is the third such set of videos of the quota warrior. Two other sets had gone viral last month. Hardik had then said BJP had been “crazy to release the videos in haste”. The videos should have been made viral five to seven days before polling, he had said. Hardik had also predicted BJP would release more such videos to “malign his image”.
Hardik, who was conducting a rally in Amreli, was not available for comment on Wednesday. In one of the five new clips – which seem to be extended versions of the previous batch of videos – allegedly show Hardik and two others with a girl. In one clip, the other two men leave the room after switching off the lights. In the remaining videos, nothing is visible as the lights are off.
Dinesh Bambhania, the PAAS co-convener, said that the videos had been doctored by BJP. “We have repeatedly said that the clips are fake and doctored by BJP to defame Hardik Patel. We request the media not to play the videos as they are not genuine. This is just a conspiracy to derail the movement,” he said.
