A 46-year-old mother Maryam Yazdany experienced a traumatic experience from a hospital. Northwick Park Hospital in North West London, which made the error, was warned by the Care Quality Commission last year for failing standards.
Maryam said she had been forced to close her beauty salon in Harrow due to the stress and depression the ordeal caused her. As per the reports, Maryam went to the hospital in 2015 after she felt a lump in her breast. In the mammogram results, something serious is observed and she is advised to take a biopsy.
Maryam said that not long after that I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. They said they’d have to remove my whole breast. The surgery was awful, I was in so much pain and discomfort, she added.
Maryam was recovering at home when the hospital called again. She added: “They said, ‘Sorry, we mixed up your test results’. She also said that “I tried to be brave and accept it, but it’s a lot to ask.”
The NHS has admitted its mistake and paid for her and her counseling, and it is in talks about compensation.
