UAE strongly against Donald Trump’s Jerusalem move and this is the reason

Two days after, UAE condemns US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The UAE said it would open new doors to extremists and throw a lifeline to armed groups.

A Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said the UAE will remain a firm supporter of the Arab identity of Jerusalem and its legal status established by international conventions, as well as of the rights of the Palestinian people.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stressed that any breach in the status of Jerusalem may open new doors to extremists. “Jerusalem, with its Arab identity and its historical and religious importance, is a holy land to people of different faiths.

He also added that the UAE’s position is to establish peace principles with the aim of guaranteeing Arab and Palestinian rights and lasting stability in the region,” he said.
