This is what Anushka Sharma’s hairstylist says about Anushka as a bride

During her wedding time on Monday, with cricketer Virat Kohli in Tuscany, Italy, actor Anushka Sharma showed off her full style credentials. She was easily one of the most beautifully effortless and charming brides we’ve ever seen. And her hairstylist Gabriel Georgiou can take some credit for this accolade.

In an interview with Vogue India, Georgiou, the man behind her romantic (and dramatic) wedding-day updo, adorned with a bouquet of Tuscan hydrangeas in white, described her as ‘the easiest and calmest bride’ he’s ever worked with.

Sharing how it didn’t take that long to put together any of Anushka’s wedding looks, Georgiou said, “The longest was the bridal look on the big day, only because everything had to be perfect. Even so, probably not longer than a couple of hours for hair and make-up. I must say she was the easiest and calmest bride I’ve ever worked with.”

Georgiou, whose Instagram feed is a veritable treasure trove of celebrity beach waves, updos, and stunning hair accessories, further elaborated on Anushka’s awe-inspiring wedding-day hairstyle: “The idea was pretty in pastels and like an Indian fairy-tale princess, but with a little western influence. So yes, quite unique. The beautiful pastel-coloured flowers and the way they were placed really added to the look, in harmony with everything else.”

For brides-to-be, who want to look whimsical, edgy, and romantic on their big day by experimenting with fresh flowers, Georgiou has a little something to say that should make them feel a little less intimidated. Explaining how the flowers on Anushka’s bun stayed in place throughout the wedding, he said, “The flowers stayed very fresh and were pinned very well on a bun and around the bun so that they stayed perfectly even with the dupatta pressing on them.”

His advice to Indian brides: “I think the most important thing is stabilising the hair jewellery pieces and dupatta very well so that they don’t move at all, even while dancing, and last for the whole day/night.”
