Alia Bhatt is a very popular Indian film actress who works in Bollywood films. She is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Alia is the half sister of actress Pooja Bhatt and popular fitness trainer Rahul Bhatt.
Alia made her acting debut as a child artist in the 1999 thriller film Sangharsh. She made it big at the silver screen with her first leading role in Karan Johar’s romantic drama Student of the Year (2012), for which she earned a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
She is a well-established actress in Bollywood and has several commercially successful films, such as 2 States, Kapoor & Sons, Dear Zindagi and Badrinath Ki Dulhania in her kitty.
She received huge critical accolades for portraying emotionally intense characters in the Imitiaz Ali directorial – Highway, which also won her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. In addition to this crime drama Udta Punjab won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
Apart from acting, she has also performed playback singing for the song “Sooha Saaha” in Highway, unplugged version of the song “Samjhawan” in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and an alternate version of the song “Ikk Kudi”, for Udta Punjab.
