After the massive entry of Jio phone, Jio Phone gets another rival as Airtel launches a handset under its ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative. Airtel has expanded its line-up adding the Celkon Star 4G+ smartphone in partnership with Celkon.
The Celkon Star 4G+ will be available at an ‘effective price’ of Rs. 1,249 though users will have to pay Rs. 2,749 up front. Those who buy the Star 4G+ smartphone will have to do 36 monthly recharges. The company says that users will have to recharge for a minimum amount of Rs. 3,000 in every 18 months. Airtel will be giving a total cashback of Rs. 1,500 which will come in parts – Rs. 1,000 cashback after 18 months and Rs. 500 after 36 months from the date of purchase.
Airtel has launched a host of devices under its ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative and recently unveiled the Intex Aqua Lion N1 at an effective price of Rs. 1,649. There are more smartphones launched by Airtel under its initiative with OEM partners like Karbonn and Celkon.
For specifications, the Celkon Star 4G+ features a 4-inch display and is powered by quad-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM. It sports 3.2-megapixel rear camera and also packs a 2-megapixel front camera. There’s 4GB storage onboard which is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). The smartphone comes with FM radio and packs a 1800mAh battery.
