Mysterious stickers pasted on a couple of houses in the Nattasseri area have alerted the police and the residents of the Kottayam suburb of the possibility of a gang of thieves on the prowl. The black stickers pasted in a unique pattern may be a method of marking targets, the police suspect.
Dr. Prakashini Tom found the stickers on the external frame of her windows on December 20. She said she had spotted a few nomads in the area that afternoon. Her house near the Puthett-Karangelipadi Road was targeted by thieves three years ago.
Murikkoli Babu found similar stickers on the first floor of his house. Both Dr. Tom and Babu have removed the marks as advised by the police. The police have launched special patrol in the area.
