13 year old girl sexually assaulted by man

In India crime against minors is rising day by day here is an incident that, in the Mumbai, another such incident came to light in Kandivali, where a man was booked for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Samta Nagar police in Kandivali have booked the man for sexually assaulting the 13-year-old twice in within a week.

According to a report in Indian Express, The accused, Popat Shinde, who lives in the same locality as the girl, would allegedly wait along the route the 13-year-old girl would take while coming home from school, and touch her inappropriately.

Even after warning the accused, the accused repeated his behavior after which the girl’s parents approached the police. And the police based on their statement registered a case against the accused. The case was registered on charges including outraging the modesty of a woman and under sections of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

 

A police officer told Indian Express, the girl, a class 7 student, lives with her parents in Kandivali. In her complaint to the police, the girl’s mother said that her daughter’s school timings are from 12.40pm to 5.45 pm. She mostly walks to the school alone. She has to cross a bridge as the school is on the other side of the bridge.

The officer further added that the accused on December 17, overpowered the girl who was returning from school and touched her inappropriately. After returning home the girl narrated the incident to her parents. After which girl’s parents went to the accused house and scolded him for inappropriate behavior. And gave him a warning that if he again misbehaves with their daughter they will approach the police.

But on Saturday the accused again tried to touch the 13-year-old girl inappropriately, the girl came crying home and told her parents about the incident. After the girl narrated the entire incident to her parents, they went to Samta Nagar police station to file a complaint. The police based on statement registered an FIR against Popat Shinde, under Section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of POCSO Act.
