Go to war with Pakistan, tear it to pieces, says Subramanian Swamy

India should begin serious homework for a war with Pakistan and tear the country into four pieces, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy said, reacting to the treatment meted out to Kulbhushan Jadhav’s family in Pakistan.

Whatever treatment was given to the mother and wife of Kulbhushan (Jadhav) is akin to Draupadi’s vastraharan that resulted in Mahabharat. It’s very unfortunate and we are hurt… and now the time has come when we should wage war against Pakistan to tear it apart into four pieces.

The mangalsutra, bangles, and bindi of Jadhav’s wife and mother were reportedly removed before the tightly-controlled interaction he had with them, according to an external affairs ministry statement in New Delhi.

Swamy, in his comments yesterday, said the treatment “given to the mother and wife of Kulbhushan is akin to Draupadi’s vastraharan that resulted in Mahabharat.”

This is not the first time the MP, who is known to speak his mind, has called for a war with Pakistan. In October last year, shortly after Indian security forces thwarted an attack on an Indian Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla, Swamy had said there seemed to be no other way to deal with Pakistan other than “war”.

“There seems to be no other way than a war. Pakistan is mistaking our silence. They need to be taught a lesson,” he had said.
