Kerala ‘Love Jihad’ : NIA to question IS suspects on Shefin Jahan’s terror links

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will question two IS suspects arrested from Kannur as a part of the ongoing inquiry into alleged terror links of Shafin Jahan.

NIA will Monday question two accused T Manseed and Shafvan, arrested under suspicion of plotting attacks in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, at Viyyur jail in Thrissur.

The agency was granted court permission to question the duo after it took over the probe into the alleged terror links of the Kerala man, whose marriage was nullified by the High Court of Kerala after allegations of forced conversion.

The two men being questioned were reportedly known to Shafin Jahan. Jahan was member of a Whatsapp group run by Manseed. According to the agency, he had prior acquaintance with the other accused Shafvan.

The NIA has been detained on the basis of confidential information of a team comprising Kanakamala in October, 2016. The arrested members planned to explode the shrine of all the religious communities in Kerala. Besides, the NIA also found that the accused were targeted by high court judges, politicians and police personnel.
