2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet edition has just been launched in India at a price of Rs 2.12 lakh (on-road, Chennai). Having said that, the new Sleet edition is Rs 28,000 expensive than the regular model. The 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet edition is limited to just 500 units and buying one might not be as easy as you may think. The bookings for the Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet edition have begun at the company’s official website. If you are an interested buyer, you can book the motorcycle at a token amount of Rs 5,000. First, you will have to register for the motorcycle at the Royal Enfield official website between 12th January and 30th January. After that, the new 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet edition will be out for sale on 30th January. The biggest change in the new Sleet edition is the new camouflage paint scheme and its images had already leaked on the internet a few days back. Under the new paint scheme, the bike gets a white colour with portions of grey.

The new 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet edition is not just limited to cosmetic update. The bike gets an additional explorer kit in favour of long-distance touring. This new kit includes aluminium handlebar with bar end weights and cross-brace and an engine guard with powder coating finish. Besides, there is also 26-litre waterproof aluminium panniers and pannier mounting rails on offer that enables the rider carry his belongings on long rides.

Mechanically, there are no changes to the new 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet edition. The motorcycle continues to get its power from a 411cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. The fuel injected motor is good for developing respective power and torque of 24.5 hp and 32 Nm. The braking to the new Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet edition is taken care of with the help of a 300mm disc brake upfront along with a 240mm disc brake at the rear. Other interesting highlights include a large 21-inch wheel at the front, a transparent windscreen, highly informative instrument cluster with a geographical compass and a lot more.
