TRAILER: independence from a well; ‘Telescope’ reveals it all

Are we free? Even though we gained our independence from the British are we free? This film gives the answer to this question.

Trailer of upcoming film Telescope, directed by MB Padmakumar, was released on Saturday. The movie narrates the desperate attempts of eight people trapped in a well to survive. The well is a symbolic representation of post-independent India.

The 62-foot-deep pit turns out to be a ‘telescope’ for the eight. They portray the mental quagmire where chains of caste, creed, power, and fanaticism forbid them from helping each other.

Interestingly, if one person could stand on the shoulder of another, the problem could be solved and everyone can come out to safety.

But what forbids the forlorn lot from making such an attempt to unite, even in the time of misery, is the crux of the story. They spend their time in the dark well, waiting for signs or sounds, which could mean a ray of hope for their escape.

It is finally a wild animal, that falls in the well, that ultimately unites them.
