After decades, North and South Korean players will compete as a team

Follow up to the peace talks between North Korea and South Korea, the first group of North Korean athletes arrived in South Korea on Thursday to participate as a joint team with the South in the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, reported an official.

The team which includes 12 ice hockey players, they will join the South Korean team for the first time since 1991.

The delegation entered South Korea passing through the Korean Demilitarised Zone at 9.21 a.m., the South Korean Unification Ministry said in a statement.

The team entered South Korea after going through a number of security procedures which took about 10 minutes.

But this decision has also caused quite discontent in South Korea, people believe that it is unfair that their national team to give minutes of the game to the athletes from the North, whose team has not qualified for PyeongChang.

Th decision to send out a team to South Korea comes after long peace talk between both countries.

The talk took place after a long gap of 9 years.
