A man and his son were killed in a road accident as the car in which they were traveling hit an unidentified vehicle parked on the roadside on the Tirunelveli- Madurai Highway at Marloth near here in the early hours of Sunday.
The police identified the deceased as M. Thyagarajan (58) and his son T. Prem Arun Prasad (30) of Kadayanallur in Tirunelveli district.

The car driver S. Raja 27 was injured and has been admitted to the government hospital here.
The police said the ill-fated car was proceeding towards Chennai and the driver lost control of the vehicle that hit the other vehicle from behind. The accident occurred at around 2 a.m.
The Soolakkarai police are investigating.
