Withdraw cases against Army or face consequences, Subramaniam Swamy warns Mehbooba Mufti

The case that has been registered against the army personnel in association with the killing of two civilians in Jammu and Kashmir has taken a new turn as senior BJP leader and a Rajyasabha member Subramaniam Swamy threatened PDP government of serious consequences.

He said that PDP government should be dismissed unless they withdrew the case against soldiers. He in a sort of advice to Modi government said that why are we even running that govt? I haven’t understood that till date.”

Subramaniam Swamy’s reaction comes as a result of the actions of Jammu and Kashmir CM Mahbooba Mufti who has decided to continue with the case despite the demand of BJP MLA’s to withdraw it.

BJP MLA Pathania who demanded the withdrawal of FIR also said his party supports the magisterial probe to allow the law to take its own course.

The FIR was registered against the personnel of 10, Garhwal unit, of the Army under sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

Not only two soldiers but a major who was there at that time also has been named in the FIR.

Two civilians were killed while army fired at a stone melting mob. According to Mufti, police wouldn’t take any action that will have a demoralising effect on soldiers.

She also said that Defence minister Nirmala Sitaraman has asked her to necessary action if there had any “carelessness”.

According to the police, the crowd hurled stones on a security force convoy passing through Ganovpora village in Shopian district following which the Army men fired a few rounds.

But the army has a different version, according to whom army fired when the mob tried to lynch an officer and tried to snatch their vehicle.
