You can renew your car registration via mobile app soon

From February this year, motorists in Ras Al Khaimah will have the registration card of their light vehicles renewed only via the Ministry of Interior (MoI) mobile phone application.

Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Police, made the announcement on Tuesday. “This is in line with the MoI’s strategic plan and vision to turn its electronic services into smart ones so that customers can process their transactions anywhere and anytime.

“Soon, all the RAK Police services shall be smart, and long queues shall be history, bringing happiness to customers,” he said. “The smart app saves customers’ time and effort, and makes them happy in view of the directives of the UAE government and the prudent leadership to be 100 per cent smart. 

Brigadier Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director general of the central operations department, RAK Police, said all drivers will have to renew their light vehicles’ registration card on their own. “The new decision shall take effect from February 4, 2018. 

Col Adel Ali Al Ghais, director of the vehicle and drivers’ licensing department, RAK Police, said they have printed some 10,000 brochures to enlighten the public on the smart services of the MoI.
