BJP is confident of Winning Meghalaya; These are the reasons

The Bharatiya Janata party leaders of the hill state of Meghalaya are in confident mood as they are very much hopeful of BJP coming to power in the state ousting Congress.

The Meghalaya Assembly elections are scheduled on February 27. A total of 443 candidates have filed their nomination papers to contest the elections, the results of which will be declared on March 3. The last date of filing of nomination papers for the candidates was on February 6.

Congress is ruling the state for last 15 years.Presently Congress has 47 seats out of 60 seats. Despite the brute majority Congress have, BJP leaders are confident of a ‘Lotus’ bloom.

According to them the candidates they have chosen like AL Hek, Sanbor Shullai, JA Lyngdoh, Ernest Mawrie and Antonio War, they all are so strong that they could upset Congress.

Nalin Kohli, BJP national spokesperson who is the in charge of the state claims that according to the assessment by the central leaders, BJP is coming to power in the state.They also hope to win an absolute majority, something like 47 out of 60 seats.

Since BJP has an image of ‘Hindu’ party, she was asked how they can come to power in a state which is Christian dominated, to which her reply was that BJO believes in “sabka saath sabka vikas”.
