Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma and Taapsee Pannu, the trio emerged as the ‘fastest growing female stars’ in an annual research conducted by Ormax, a company acknowledged as pioneers of film research in India. The study saw a star’s ascent being determined on the basis of three parameters – their films released last year, their upcoming slate of projects and their growth on social media.
“My characters are what I will leave behind in life. My goal is to make memorable movies and create unforgettable characters,” Thrilled about topping the list, Bhatt says.
Pannu ranks second on the list courtesy a commercial success in Judwaa 2 last year. Her ‘call a spade a spade’ attitude too resonates with her fans. Stating that such acceptance from the audience gives a boost to an outsider like her, she says, “[It’s encouraging] for someone like me who did not know anyone in the film industry, had no multi-film deals with studios or any godfather to fall back on. Wherever I am today is because of my audience and that’s what pushes me to do better.”
