Messages sent by aliens could destroy Earth, warns Scientists

While the space agencies around the world are trying to create a connection with ‘aliens’ trying to get some message from them, two scientists have come up with a warning. According to them if the message sent by the aliens are not carefully read then it can destroy the earth. So it would be safe if the messages from Aliens are not read and are discarded immediately. What they mean is that Aliens needn’t be present on earth to destroy it.

In the academic paper titled ‘Interstellar Communication. IX. Message decontamination is impossible’, the two researchers from the University of Hawaii and Sonneberg Observatory in Germany have discussed the way we might read and understand a message received from space.

The study has been posted on arXiv.org in which researchers Michael Hippke and John G L says that it would be unlikely that any alien civilization they would come in contact would be harmful. But since they don’t know what the message might mean, it would be safe if the message is discarded.

Because according to them it is cheaper to destroy human civilization through messages than through battleships. Some have suggested that these dangers should be removed before the message is read but the problem is that it is difficult to remove the danger.

The attack might come in the form of a virus that can affect the networks of Earth or in the form of Artificial Intelligence that would then be able to take over Earth’s computing systems.

But the research paper also says that since the reward in opening the message would be unimaginable knowledge compared to the small risk, they should open it. It also says that how a reply should be sent to aliens. The man should send a message that shouldn’t require advanced computers to open.
