Patient dies after mistakenly given acid to drink instead of water
In a shocking incident, a woman died after she consumed acid which was given to her by a compounder at an eye clinic in Jurna Chhapra locality under Brahampura police station area in the eastern Indian state of Bihar.
Police said that , Shyamali Devi (60) consumed liquor the previous evening when the compounder gave her acid by mistaking it for water at the clinic where she had gone for eye testing.

Sources said the condition of woman, a native of Chhotki Chhapra village, became critical after she consumed acid and was rushed to a local hospital where she died during treatment.
Police said the compounder was absconding after the incident.
The body has been sent for autopsy, police added.
