Udhav Thackeray set to meet Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis; Might talk about alliance for 2019 Lok Sabha election

Shiv Sena chief Udhav Thackeray is set to meet Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis at his residence today. This is the first response from the BJP which is trying to bring back their old ally.

Sources from the Sena said that the duo will have a one on one meeting between them. “After three rounds of meetings that the BJP had with us, this seems logical. A meeting between both leaders is important,” a Shiv Sena leader told.

The Shiv Sena has officially said that the meeting was staged to discuss issues related to Nannar oil refinery. The right-wing party had opposed the refinery in Ratnagiri district. He will meet the CM along with the locals from the area.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 7.00 pm. The first round of meeting is the refinery. After that, they are likely to have a closed conversation between themselves.

The Shiv Sena had said that they were not in talks with BJP for an alliance. They also made it clear that they will conduct elections as a single unit. BJP and Shiv Sena fought the 2014 general election in alliance and won a major chunk of seats from the state of Maharashtra and gave a huge blow to Congress and NCP which fought the election as separate units.
