Ooty Botanical Gardens

Home to the rarest of species of trees including a 20 million old fossilized tree, this garden is a treasure house of shrubs, herbs, bonsais, ferns and what not! The monkey puzzle tree (named so because even monkeys find it a tough tree to climb), the cork tree and the paperbark tree are only a few of the varieties found here. This 22 hectares wonder, only 2 kilometres from the city centre is something you don’t want to miss if you are visiting Ooty.
