This Country has roads that will charge your car on the move.

Every country boasts of their efforts to reduce carbon emission and bring clean energy but in a giant step towards achieving this mission, the Scandinavian country Sweden opened a road that charges electric vehicles like real life slot cars. You may have played with slot cars in your childhood, but head to Sweden if you want a similar experience while you are actually inside the car.

The first country to achieve this feet, these roads can charge your vehicle while driving. The vehicle will be connected to an electric rail that’s fixed in to the road. The electricity is transferred through an arm that is fixed to the track. The track sits in the middle of the road.  The system can work for most types of vehicles from cars to trucks.

As the vehicle gets to the track, a sensor in the vehicle detects the rail and the extendable and flexible arm underneath the vehicle inserts into the rail and charging is initiated.

This project “eRoadArlanda” is on the public road 893 that stretches along two kilometers (1.2 miles) just 30 minutes outside of Stockholm. This innovative project, if established on a larger scale can significantly reduce the size of the batteries in a car. The charging won’t be hampered by weather conditions and the electricity doesn’t pose any kind of harm to human or wildlife.

Many countries are still struggling to get out of the fossil fuel phase while many countries who have moved on are complaining about the unavailability of adequate charging points.Sweden is taking the game ahead.
