If you ever have a list of candidates who can currently win Nobel prize, chances are good that trump will not make that list. But not for South Korean president Moon jae-in, who felt that Trump deserves to win Nobel Prize. He said that “President Trump should win Nobel Prize, the only thing we need is peace”.
Speculations and theories have already started doing rounds and it seems Moon Jae-in believes that the recent change in the tone of North Korea has something to do with America’s attitude towards it.The statement is a little premature considering North Korea and South Korea is hitting it off nicely and any remark that would even remotely annoy North Korea could have been avoided. Although there have been a lot of talks about it, there are yet no official decision taken to set up a much awaited Trump- Kim Jong un meeting. Perhaps diplomatic works are underway and we don’t know about it. But the politics apart, Does Trump deserves a Nobel ?
As one can expect there are completely polarised opinions about this. At Trump’s rally in Michigan, the popular chant was “Nobel Nobel”. Liberals are obviously not happy about this and thinks it only feeds Trumps love for flattery. But whatever it is, history will tell you that a lot of Nobel prizes for peace have actually not been given for their well known achievements. For instance, the American president Theodore Roosevelt had won it despite his love for militarism. But some say it was credited to him for his skilful and diplomatic moves.
