Army chief Bipin Rawat sends a strong message to Kashmiri youth

Bipin Rawat minced no words while talking to media and made a stern statement that “aazadi will never happen” as one does not stand a chance against the army. He was concerned that the Kashmiri youth was picking up gun but firmly stated that “one cannot fight against army”. He said he was concerned about the youngsters who thinks picking up guns is the “path to bring aazadi”.

Rawat was quoted saying “I want to tell Kashmiri youth that Azadi isn’t possible. It won’t happen. Don’t get carried away unnecessarily. Why are you picking up weapons? We will always fight those who seek Azadi, those who want to secede. (Azadi) is not going to happen, never”

Rawat added that the army did not enjoy killng but will retaliate in the right fashion. Comparing indian forces to forces in Syria and Pakistan, he said that Indian forces have never been brutal. He said such countries uses even tank and air power but Indians tried their best to avoid human casuality.

“We don’t enjoy it. But if you want to fight us, then we will fight you with all our force. Kashmiris have to understand that the SFs (security forces) haven’t been so brutal — look at Syria and Pakistan. They use tanks and air power in similar situations. Our troops have been trying their level best to avoid any civilian casualty despite huge provocation,’’ he said. “I know that the youth are angry. But attacking security forces, throwing stones at us isn’t the way”

He said that people should stop supporting terrorists and ask them to give up their arms. He said people incited forces by resorting to acts like stone pelting.
