Kerala Style Dates Fritters Recipe: Ramadan Special

Enthapazham Mukki Porichathu or Dates Fritters is a delicious, healthy and very easy to make a snack. The best part of this snack is the stuffing inside the dates. The seed is carefully taken out & stuffed with cashew nut pieces which gives it quite a different & yummy taste!!!!

Dates are an excellent source of fibre, sugar, magnesium, potassium, and have carbohydrates which will aid the body in maintaining health.

Dates are used by Muslims to break fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. Traditionally, dates are known as the food Muhammad ate when he broke his fast.

Ingredients

  • Dates – 10 nos
  • Cashew nuts – 10 nos
  • Egg – 1 no
  • Maida – 1/4 cup
  • Rice flour – 2 Tsp
  • Sugar – 1 Tsp
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Vegetable oil – 2 cup
  • Water – 4 Tsp

Method

Remove the seeds from dates and stuff it with cashew nuts. Take a bowl and mix the egg, sugar, rice flour, maida and salt with little water and make a smooth batter. Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Dip each dates in the batter and fry it in hot oil. Tasty Enthapazham Mukki Porichathu is ready. Enjoy!!!
