IPL 2018: Rahane opt to bat first in the ‘Do or Die’ Battle of Royals- RR vs RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will look to ride on their current momentum when they are hosted by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a must-win Indian Premier League (IPL) clash for either side at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.

Rajasthan Royals win the toss, and captain Ajinkya Rahane opts to bat first. Both RR and RCB are in a crunch situation where they need to win the match to give themselves a shot at making it into the playoffs.

RCB will come into the match at the back of three back-to-back wins while RR has their three-match winning streak broken when they lost against KKR in their previous fixture.

Virat Kohli’s men have enjoyed a resurgence of sorts and they will have to beat RR and they will sit third for the time being as KKR have a negative net run-rate. If KKR wins later on Saturday and Mumbai win on Sunday, they will go out of the tournament even if they beat RR someway.

Royal Challengers Bangalore XI: Parthiv Patel (wk), Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers, Moeen Ali, Colin de Grandhomme, Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Khan, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal

Three new faces in the Rajasthan XI: Ben Laughlin, Heinrich Klaasen and Shreyas Gopal get a call-up for this game.
