Drop plastic bottles here, get Rs.5 : Indian Railways with an eco friendly system

On June 5, Indian Railways installed a machine at Vadodara railway station to deposit plastic bottles. In an initiative pitched to reduce the plastic consumption, one has to deposit one’s used plastic bottles in it and then register mobile number in the machine. For each plastic bottle dropped, Rs.5 will be credited via your PayTm wallet.

The Railway’s plan is to collect all the plastic bottles which are deposited in the machine, recycle it, process it and use it for making plates to distribute food in the train. The bottles deposited in the machines will be broken down into granules and then processed, reshaped to create plates. Already IRCTC has used such type of plates experimentally in 8 Rajdhani, Dasabdhi trains.
