Two days back Aurangzeb’s family had made an emotional appeal to the center and the J&K state government to wipe out the militants from Kashmir. Aurangzeb’s father, who is an ex-Army man emotionally asked ‘Why Pakistan’s flag was flying in Kashmir, not Hindustan’s flag?’ reiterating the need for a stringent action to end Kashmir’s militancy.

Aurangzeb’s bullet-ridden body was recovered on June 14. He had been kidnapped on his way home to attend the Eid functions.

A massive manhunt was launched by the Jammu and Kashmir police after his abduction.
