Colombia and Japan have only once locked their horns against each other in a World Cup match and it was Colombia who won 4-1 then. Going against Japan on Tuesday, their biggest concern will be the fitness of playmaker- James Rodriguez who is a doubtful starter. People would remember that in the last World Cup in Brazil, he won the Golden Ball for best player with 6 goals and 2 assists. Japan too have injury concerns with its forward Shinji Okazakai having a calf problem. Midfielder Ryota Oshima and Gen Shoji are expected to be fit though.

We expect Colombia to win this match by a margin of 2 goals.

Match 2 Poland v Senegal, 8 30pm

Senegal has not been part of a World Cup since 2002 whereas Poland last qualified in 2006. Both teams therefore lack experience which is significant at this stage. Poland’s trump card will be Robert Lewandowski who is among the worlds best forwards currently. Senegal has a lot of talented players, but a lot of focus will be on its star player, Liverpool’s Sadio Mane. Both teams are expected to play attacking football and this could be a goalfeast.

Match 3 Russia V Egypt, 11 30pm

Russia head in to this match against Egypt as Group A leaders with a +4 goal difference over the second placed Uruguay. Yuri Gazinskiy, Cheryshev and Dzuyba have all scored and looks in good shape. Egypt must win or at least avoid a loss if they want to have some hope of qualifying in to last 16. Their star man Salah will make a comeback in to the team after missing out the first match.
