Move Aside Samsung, OPPO’s Foldable Phone is Here

OPPO was long thought to be a Chinese brand which was not capable of innovation. It kept producing selfie-centred phones that did not resonate well with customers who wanted more performance in their phone, but recently they have shocked us all by being the first one to get to some mind-boggling achievements. Starting with its patent for the first on-screen fingerprint scanner, OPPO is back again with a foldable smartphone with airbag!

The patent for its new idea was filed on March 22nd, 2018 and was officially published by WIPO on April 6th. The patents were recently discovered by Dutch publication LetsGoDigital. According to them, the device will have two airbags in the left and rear side. If you think this is to protect the handset from accidental falls, not really. The airbags will make it possible for the screen to bend more frequently. When the user unfolds the smartphone, the air in the bag is moved, giving more support to the bending area. It bends in the middle, similar to a flip phone.

Also, it is revealed that the phone will have three screens, quite like Samsungs foldable phone. When extended it will look like a tablet, and when folded it will still have a screen that you can operate. Meanwhile, another patent showcases a handset with two swivel hinges, allowing the phone to be folded twice for a screen that’s three times the size.

When can you get hands on this phone or what will be its possible pricing? You will have to wait long to know that.
