Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and People’s Democratic Party chief, Mehbooba Mufti, today warned the BJP of serious consequences if they tried to break PDP. She reminded the BJP of what happened in 1987 and consequences the state had to undergo after it.

The PDP chief said, “Agar Dilli ne 1987 ki tarah yahan ki awam ke vote pe daaka dala, agar iss kism ki tod fod ki koshish ki,jis tarah ek Salahuddin ek Yasin Malik ne janm liya…agar Dilliwalon ne PDP ko todne ki koshish ki uski nataish bahut zyada khatarnaak hogi. (Delhi tried to steal the votes of the Kashmir people in 1987 and a Salahuddin and a Yasin Malik was born. If there is a similar attempt to break the PDP, it will have dangerous consequences.)”
