While non-contact sports such as basketball and tennis are good, clean fun, sometimes you just can’t beat the sheer thrill of players jumping up for headers. sliding in for tackles or, in the case of Dudelange’s Bryan Melisse, launching yourself into a spectacular dropkick straight into an opponent’s groin.

The incident took place during the Luxembourgian side’s Champions League qualifier with Videoton of Hungary. The match, or ’bout’ in this context, had entered its final stages, with Videoton winning 2-1, when the home side’s goalkeeper launched the ball into Dudelange’s half.

Bryan Melisse might have to pick up the phone to Vince McMahon after his showing on Wednesday night, the French man was given a straight red for what could easily be seen as the worst follow through from a clearance ever. Watch Video here:

After clearing the ball, by huffing it up the pitch, the 29-year-old, playing in the Luxembourg National Division, followed through with both legs landing, studs first, on the midsection of his opponent Mate Patkai.

The vicious two-footed attack was worthy of the straight red and there was little argument from Melisse when the ref produced the card.
