Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding is the much talked royal wedding. In the wedding, her family was miles from being supportive of this endeavour. The only one who was an exception during the initial days was Meghan’s father Thomas Markle. But soon after, even he turned critical of the Royal family once the royal couple was married. In fact, he also didn’t walk his daughter down the aisle due to his health issues and need of surgery.
After is derogatory comments about Britain’s royals, his ties with his daughter was severed and the phone number he had which allowed him to get in touch with her directly was also disconnected. It has been 10 weeks since he last heard his daughter’s voice or even a text from her.
In an interview with The Mail, Thomas Markle revealed that the Duchess of Sussex (Meghan Markle) has cut him off completely from her life and no longer has any correspondence with him directly or even indirectly. The father is heartbroken because he has no means to get in touch with his daughter.
“I’m really hurt that she’s cut me off completely. I used to have a phone number and text number for her personal aides at the Palace, but after I said a few critical words about the Royal Family changing Meghan, they cut me off. Those numbers were disconnected, they no longer work. I have no way of contacting my daughter,” – Thomas said.
His sadness is not just confined to the lack of communication with his daughter but also that he would probably never get to see the child of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry – his first grandchild from his daughter. Even the thought of that seems to have broken down Thomas completely.
“What’s sad is that some time in the next year Meghan and Harry will have a baby and I’ll be a grandfather, and if we’re not speaking I won’t see my grandchild. How tragic is that, to deprive a child of its grandfather because I said a few things critical of the Royal Family?” – Thomas added.
Losing hope of ever seeing his daughter again, Thomas has just one wish in life. To see his daughter once before he dies. As a matter of fact, he believes that even for Meghan, life would be a lot easier if her father passed away.
“Perhaps it would be easier for Meghan if I died. Everybody would be filled with sympathy for her. But I hope we reconcile. I’d hate to die without speaking to Meghan again,” he concluded.
