Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently busy gearing up for the release of Atul Manjrekar’s Fanney Khan, opposite Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The movie is about a taxi driver, played by Kapoor, who wants to see his daughter become a famous singer, rising to the level of Baby Singh, played by Rai.
She is currently busy promoting the film and recently, she opened about her Instagram Page. She has over 4 million followers on her Instagram account.
In an interview with Rajeev Masand, the actress made a number of revelations about her unconventional Instagram behavior. Why she isn’t as frequent, why she doesn’t have a professional PR team handling her account, why she doesn’t get her photos clicked by professional photographers before uploading them on social media, why she doesn’t write long and inspirational captions and why she uses only emoticons.
On why she chose to begin her social media journey the actress said: “It just felt right. It was summer, its topical as Cannes was around the corner so I had material to upload. And from here on we’ll see how it rolls,” she said. But for Aishwarya, judgement and opinions are never too far away.
“There were opinions that trickled in – they said: What are you doing? Where’s your team? You can have the works but instead you’re putting up like a low-res pic. Your best friends are photographers. Do you people have teams and they work with professionals around them for posting pictures on Instagram. And you are you, so why are you behaving like a pleb in front of the whole world?” – the actress revealed. “And all I could tell them was that if I want to start a professional site like that, I’ll start one… this is just personal.”
She also revealed the reason why she rarely ever writes a caption when he puts up a picture. The actress uses different kind of emoticons but not a caption. Are you wondering why? Let’s hear it from the horse’s mouth:
“People would be like why don’t you write something and I’d be like if I want to or if I need to, but why… sometimes the picture says what it has to say, what other saga am I going to write around it and when I want to, I’ll write a saga. And yeah, I love using emoticons because to me they are sweet and cute,” – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said.
