Kerala Floods: Pregnant Lady Airlifted by Navy later delivers Baby Boy

The pregnant lady was airlifted after a doctor was lowered to assess her. She was evacuated and taken to the hospital.

Navy’s valour in flood-hit Kerala has saved two lives. A 25-year-old pregnant woman, rescued from an inundated village in Aluva region of Ernakulam district, gave birth to a baby boy on Friday.

The pregnant lady was airlifted after a doctor was lowered to assess her. She was evacuated and taken to the hospital. The woman, identified as 25-year-old Sajita Jabeel, later gave birth to a baby boy.

Her family members have thanked the Navy, Kerala police and the government which ensured that not only their lives were saved, but the baby was safely delivered.

Five teams of the Indian Navy, along with 10 columns of the Army and teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are working shoulder-to-shoulder in Kerala to rescue to the flood-affected populace.
