Hanan, who was trolled for selling fish Donates a Huge amount for Flood Relief

The third year B.Sc Chemistry student and Thrissur native started receiving funds after she was trolled in August.

Hanan Hanai, the 19-year-old Kerala student who had become a victim of massive cyber trolling last month after photos of her in uniform selling fish went viral has donated Rs 1.5 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).

The amount, Hanan confirms, is what she received from well-wishers in August, after a viral picture of her selling fish in her uniform became material for trolls and was termed as ‘a publicity stunt’.

“I visited a relief camp in Kothamangalam where people were struggling to have basic necessities like food and clothes. Seeing their struggle I wanted to help them in some way. When I was at facing difficulties in my life, a lot of people generously helped me. I had received some Rs 1.5 lakhs from you people. Now I want to transfer that money to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund,” Hanan said in a video.
