Security Forces foiled an infiltration bid, gunned down one terrorist in Baramulla

The security forces on Sunday foiled an infiltration bid and gunned down one terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The operation is still in progress. This comes a day after the security forces killed three terrorists and successfully foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district. Confirming the news, Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, SP Vaid said via a tweet, “Three terrorists killed by Army while infiltrating in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara today.”

The Indian Army foiled a major infiltration bid on Saturday when they killed three terrorists who were trying to infiltrate into the valley from Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“Three terrorists killed by Army while infiltrating in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara today,” Dr. Shesh Paul Vaid, DGP Jammu and Kashmir tweeted on Saturday.

The Pakistan army had resorted to heavy firing and shelling on Indian forward positions and civilian areas along the LoC since Friday night, injuring two people in the Tangdhar and Uri sectors of North Kashmir. Police sources said the Pakistani army fired at forwarding posts and civilian areas on the LoC at 9 pm on Friday. The firing and shelling continued till 4 am on Saturday.

“Two people received minor injuries after they were hit by the stray stones when a shell exploded on a rock. They did not suffer any splinter or bullet injuries,” said Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar, SSP, Kupwara.

Later on, Saturday Pakistan opened another front in Uri when they fired mortar shells on the civilian areas. “Some mortar shells were fired by Pakistani forces into Thajal-Chranda area of Uri. One of the shells hit the washroom of Mohammad Hussain causing damage to the structure. No loss of life or injury was reported,” a cop said
