In Indonesia, the death toll from last week’s gold mine collapse on North Sulawesi island has risen to 16. Till now, 18 people have been pulled alive from the illegal mine. It is not yet clear how many miners were inside the shafts at the time of the accident.
The accident happened in Sulawesi island’s Bolaang Mongondow region, where five miners were killed last December after a similar illegal gold mine accident.
